In November the insurance company "BTA Insurance Company" SE (BTA) registered the company’s branch in France, which is already the fifth company’s branch in Europe.
Heretofore BTA has worked in France according to free cross border service provision principle, by selling its services to the clients through mediation of independent persons or brokers and agents. Just like in Latvia also in France BTA has obtained all 18 non-life risk insurance licences.
The French branch of BTA is established in Paris. Currently there are eight employees working in the branch, but the company’s board member Dita Daukste fulfils responsibilities of the director thereof.
BTA informs that during nine months of this year 72% of the total amount of the gross written insurance premiums are made of premiums written abroad. While in France in the amount of gross written insurance premiums comprised 14% of the amount of the insurance premiums written abroad.
For the first time BTA expanded its activity outside Latvia in 2002, when it purchased the Lithuanian insurance company. BTA is proud of being the only insurance company in Latvia successfully exporting financial services. BTA has registered the company’s branches in Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, the United Kingdom and France, but the company offers its services according to free cross border service provision principle also in Poland, Italy and Spain.
